Traditional Chinese Medicine not only includes acupuncture, but a vast array of modalities used in conjunction with acupuncture to ensure that your treatment is not only effective, but long-lasting.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is based on the premise that if the patients “Qi” or vital energy is flowing smoothly throughout the body’s network of channels and organs, the body and mind will be in harmony and health will be abundant. When the flow of Qi is disturbed or becomes out of balance, illness and pain can arise. When you receive acupuncture, fine sterilized needles are inserted into specific points that lie on these channels to stimulate the free flow of Qi and encourage the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. In Western terms, the needle triggers sensory receptors in the body to signal nerves which transmit impulses to the hypothalamic-pituitary system in the brain. This area of the brain is where neurotransmitters and endorphins are released, resulting in reduced pain, improved immunity, and overall healing.

DRY NEEDLING
Dry Needling is a type of acupuncture that uses trigger points or motor points to release tight or spasming muscles. It is useful for any kind of muscle/joint pain or weakness, and increases flexibility and range of motion.
CUPPING
The practice of cupping is a technique that uses glass cups (or historically bamboo jars) with a flame to create a suction or vacuum on the skin. In Chinese medical terms, cupping removes blockages of obstructed Qi throughout the body’s channels or meridians, restoring the natural flow of energy and thus promoting good health. In Western terms, the applied suction to the area of the body being cupped increases circulation by dilating blood vessels and capillaries. Not only does cupping feel amazing, but promotes lymphatic circulation, loosen’s adhesions, revitalizes connective tissue, increases blood flow to the skin and muscles, reduces pain, eliminates toxins trapped in the tissues, regulates high blood pressure, and builds immunity.
TESTING
A variety of testing is offered at Vedana Acupuncture + Wellness including food sensitivity testing, environmental toxin testing, hormone testing, and general blood and health labs.

The most commonly ran test is a food sensitivity test. Food allergies or sensitivities don't automatically mean digestive problems- they have been found to be correlated to many plaguing health conditions. With proper identification and elimination of offending foods, many experience almost immediate relief from their symptoms.

I offer a comprehensive 144-Food “Super” panel, as well as 96-food panels to assess IgG, IgG4, and IgA antibody response to common foods. Each panel is offered in five variations, including a General panel and specialized panels to identify allergens found in typical Asian, Japanese, Mexican, or Vegetarian diets.

It is important to note that many herbal products available at drug stores and grocery stores have been tested and found to have traces of harmful substances or only small amounts of the actual product in them. By purchasing herbal products through a licensed practitioner, you are guaranteed to be receiving a quality product from suppliers that are tested, reputable, and unavailable to the general public and retail stores.
